The Netherlands is one of 160 countries participating in WorldExpo 2025 in Osaka (April 13-October 13, 2025). The theme is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives". As part of this WorldExpo, RVO, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Economic Affairs, the Embassy in Tokyo and the Consulate General in Osaka, the Top Sector ICT and we as Holland High Tech, together with many of our partners, organise four missions to Japan, between May 18 and 28. Registration for these missions is possible until January 31.

HIGH TECH AND DIGITIZATION MISSIONS

May 18-24 & May 21-28

Together with partners around the world, the Netherlands strives to solve many challenges facing our societies and our planet, such as climate change, the energy transition and our health. These challenges are too big to solve alone.

The trade and innovation missions offer a unique opportunity to forge strategic partnerships and improve bilateral relations with Japan, and include visits to companies, universities and a matchmaking event. All participants of the missions will meet on May 22 at the High-level HTDX conference and reception at the Hilton Osaka, which will be joined by high-level visitors from the Netherlands in addition to participants of the missions.

HT1 | May 18-24

For those dealing with deep-tech equipment. Think of:

  • semiconductors
  • photonics
  • quantum devices in production processes
  • packaging solutions
  • semiconductor metrology
  • test equipment

HT2 | May 21-28

For those engaged in deep-tech applications. Consider use of:

  • quantum computing (especially for improving hardware, sensor capabilities, secure communications and materials)
  • integrated photonics
  • photonic chips
  • chip design (photonics and semiconductors)

DX1 | May 18-24

For those concerned with “Beyond 5G and 6G". Think of applications for:

  • industry, through automation such as with robots
  • logistics and mobility, such as by using drones at transport hubs
  • 'smart' maintenance, from high-tech devices to industrial installations
  • surreal experience in a digital world ('immersive experience') in retail, recreation and sports

DX2 | May 21-28

For those working on:

  • artificial intelligence (AI) and data sharing
  • privacy enhancement techniques
  • data sharing systems (data spaces)
  • data science

Registration

Registration is open until Friday, January 31, 2025. A maximum of 25 people can participate per mission.

Participating in this mission costs € 950 per organization (preferably 1 person). Travel and accommodation costs are at your own expense.
