The Open Technology Programme provides funding for application-oriented technical-scientific research that is free and unrestricted and is not hindered by disciplinary boundaries. The programme offers companies and other organizations an accessible way to participate in scientific research that is intended to lead to societal and/or scientific impact. For an application in this Call for Proposals, a total NWO contribution of up to € 900,000 can be requested. The maximum duration of the proposed project is 6 years.
Who can apply?
Full, associate and assistant professors and other researchers with a comparable position may submit an application if they have a tenured position (and therefore a paid position for an indefinite period) or a tenure track agreement at one of the following organisations:
- Universities located in the Kingdom of the Netherlands
- University medical centres
- Institutes affiliated to the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) or NWO
- Netherlands Cancer Institute
- Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics in Nijmegen
- Naturalis Biodiversity Center
- Advanced Research Centre for NanoLithography (ARCNL)
- Princess Máxima Center.
For companies and other organisations, the Open Technology Program provides an accessible way to engage in application-oriented research. Multiple companies and social organisations can participate in each project.
Applications
- Applications can be submitted on a continuous basis from January 15 2024 until December 13 2024, as long as the grant ceiling has not been reached.
- There is no limit to the number of applications that a main applicant or co-applicant can submit within the current round.
